From Blogtelemedicina the team that We manage this website, We want to say Hello! to Alan Alvarado like a new collaborator of this blog.
Alan Alvarado is a Computer Systems Engineer and shares our passion for telemedicine and the development of applications or devices aimed at this new medical tool.
A year ago, completed the design of two portable devices oriented one of them to cardiac monitoring and another to the brain monitoring. He is currently working on the implementation of an algorithm to predict heart attacks and investigated for the possible development of an algorithm to predict the falling sickness.
We are glad that our blog extending their collaboration and We are delighted to have a new vision of telemedicine from as far away as in Mexico. We hope that our fans can to collaborate with us.
For our fans, we hope that the contributions of our colleague Alan will be of your interest and that together we continue informed of the progress of telemedicine worldwide.

The Department of Agriculture provides more than U.S. $ 6 million for telemedicine projects.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture subsidize a total of $ 6 million in different telemedicine projects for rural areas in the United States. These projects will be held in
six states in the Mississippi Delta region.
The increased investment around $ 3 million will go to building an emergency center in Mound Bayou.
Other telemedicine projects to receive funding are:
- Delta Health Alliance for its development project connecting five acute care hospitals with the Intensive Care Center at the University of Mississippi.
- Sl Foundation for her project on tele-health care in the state of Illinois.
- Tombigbee Health Care Authority in the state of Alabama for its telemedicine project.
- Building Healthy Communities in Louisiana for a home telecare project.
- Oschsner Clinic Foundation in Louisiana for its telemedicine program and Telestroke.
- University of Kentucky for its project to link the hospitals of the Kentucky Telehealth Network.

VIII Iberian Forum of Telemedicine
The organization of VIII Iberian Forum of Telemedicine send to us the official program about it. Telemedicine in prisons in others countries
Very interesting article sent by Unesco Telemedicine, about the experiencies of telemedicine in prisons in countries as United Kingdom and USA.
In United Kingdom have a telemedicine project that it provides emergencies services and specialist consults to eight prisons in all british landscape.
In the USA have a telemedicine program in Maine State. Where they have developed a telemedicine network with Polycom systems with some hospitals, health centers, prisons and health and humanity services in all Maine State.
It is very important to check the experiences that various countries are developing in the field of telemedicine, step by step is becoming in one very used technology in various sectors. And as you can see the great benefits of this technology are the high degree of satisfaction of users and medical professionals, reducing transportation costs and reducing long journeys for patients.
